What are the tourism priorities this year? - Vision 2026, Gonxha: The most beautiful visitor center in the region, soon in Butrint
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, during a press conference focused on the 2026 vision as well as the new collaborative ecosystem between tourism, culture and sports. But what will be the priorities for 2026 for tourism?
"We have started work on the digitalization of the service. We are working to increase the public beach area, for the good management of the stations and this year we have brought the innovation of self-management in addition to that by private entities that they have in those areas and maps that the municipality determines. Reduction of beach bars, reduction of environmental and acoustic pollution and increase of the sports and games corner. We have started work on more information on short-term rental and in coordination with the bodies, to increase certification, control by eliminating evasion. Internationalization of the offer and potential of Albania, we must increase our presence in national markets through participation in international fairs. Increasing the quality of the tourist service through the development of human capacities. Continuous training, certifications, adaptation of curricula. Year-round tourism through event tourism so that the structures have capacities not only in beds, but to cope with activities. Event tourism, mountain, ecological, gastronomic and cultural, is important."
Among others, part of the 2026 vision is the Butrint Park. Minister Blendi Gonxhja said that very soon there will be the most beautiful visitor center in the region with green transportation while preserving the natural and historical aspects.
"We will see that we will be careful from the point of view of restoration, conservation. We will very soon have the most beautiful visitor center, perhaps in the region and not only, in Butrint, we will have green transportation, a parking lot above for the flow of vehicles, we will preserve the old natural aspect of the landscapes and past centuries so that it is all merged, there is a very holistic treatment of the entire large park of Butrint, but we are working on the realization of registrations, procurements, of course from the Butrint Management Foundation, but with our support and very soon we will have the beginning of very important investments."
