Railways, in focus of French investors - AIDA presents key projects and regional cooperation

Albania is aiming to turn the railway into a key pillar of economic development and regional connectivity. In this context, a seminar on investment opportunities in the railway sector was held at the premises of the Albanian Investment Development Agency, with the participation of a delegation of eight leading French companies in this field.
The meeting was opened by AIDA leaders, and was greeted by the Ambassador of France to Albania, Catherine Suard, who praised the stable bilateral relations and emphasized the high potential for concrete cooperation in railway infrastructure.
In her speech, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Edona Bilali, highlighted the advanced French expertise in this sector and Albania's readiness to deepen cooperation, through the exchange of best practices and the involvement of foreign investments.
During the seminar, major railway projects under development were presented, including the Adriatic-Ionian Corridor, the Tirana-Durres line and the segment towards Porto Romano, as well as regional projects connecting Albania with Montenegro and Kosovo.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthen the partnership and increase investment interest, considering the railway sector as a strategic element for economic development, regional integration and Albania's approximation to European transport standards.
