What professions can the energy transition create in Albania? - From technicians for wind panels and turbines, to mechanics for electric cars

To achieve a just and successful climate transition, countries like Albania need to put skills development and employment at the center, including dedicated training, adaptation of education to market demands, and involvement of stakeholders in decision-making.”
A newly published report by the European Training Foundation, the European Union agency that supports countries in reforming their education, training and labour market systems, finds that our country needs a better approach to employment and training policies related to climate objectives. This includes both preparing workers and creating jobs in the green economy.
The report cites the International Renewable Energy Agency, IRENA, according to which the green transition is creating new waves of employment in the energy sector, while the demand for specialized skills is growing rapidly. According to IRENA, renewable energy is expected to generate up to 45 million new jobs globally by 2030, while the fossil fuel sector will see a significant decline.
In this context, the power and renewable energy sector is experiencing increased demand for specialized engineers and technicians, especially in: wind turbines, installation of photovoltaic systems or renewable energy consultancy.
Energy efficiency and green building are also accelerating the demand for experts, such as: energy auditors, green building designers, renovation specialists, heat pump installers, etc.
The transportation sector has also opened up new employment prospects, with needs for electric vehicle mechanics.
