The government will support the cultivation of medicinal plants in the country as an industry that employs thousands of residents of rural areas and has high export demand, with over 90% coming from the American market.

Specifically, applications to receive a subsidy for their planting will be open until May 30th.

Payment for the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants is provided in the amount of up to 30 thousand lek/ha, per farmer/applicant with a planted area of ​​no less than 1 ha.

For areas over 10 (ten) ha, the benefit amount is reduced by 50%, excluding cases of applicants with "Group of Farmers" or "SHBB" status.

In the case of applying as a group of farmers, there must be a consensus/union agreement of the members of the group of farmers, which is uploaded to the system at the time of application. The agreement specifies the total and planted/to-be-planted area for each member and as a group, as well as the representative of the group/entity making the application;

In the case of applying as a group of farmers, they must have a contract for the sale of medicinal and aromatic plants, between the group of farmers and a licensed collector/processor of medicinal and aromatic plants.

The contract stipulates that the quantity of medicinal and aromatic plants sold must be no less than 30% of the group's production (based on the average yield at the regional level with reference to INSAT data).

Each member of the group must submit to AZHBR no less than one invoice/invoice for the sale of medicinal and aromatic plants. The quantity of medicinal and aromatic plants reflected in all invoices submitted by the group of farmers must be no less than 30% of the annual production.

The applicant must have a plot plan with the main data; The land must be owned by the applicant and/or rented for no less than one year, including the year of application; Have an invoice for the purchase of certified planting material (for plantings in 2024). The beneficiary must not be a debtor to the MARD and the AZHBR.
