Balluku: Situation under control, MEI structures on standby to deal with bad weather

Since yesterday evening, high-intensity rainfall has covered the entire territory of the country, causing significant difficulties especially in the northern and northeastern areas.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, has announced that the structures under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy are continuously engaged in managing the situation, with teams on standby for immediate intervention.
Through her communication on social networks, Belinda Balluku has informed citizens about the interventions carried out on road axes, the state of electricity and drinking water supply, as well as the normal functioning of ports and the airport.
She emphasized that high-intensity rainfall, accompanied by strong winds, has affected the entire territory of the country, with a particular focus on the northern and northeastern areas, while the structures under the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources are maximally engaged in monitoring and managing the situation, deploying teams ready for immediate intervention.
The working groups of the ARA and OSSH are currently on the ground to guarantee the normal circulation of vehicles and the uninterrupted supply of electricity to subscribers.
The situation on the road axes
In her report, Minister Balluku emphasized that heavy rainfall and strong winds have caused problems on several road axes.
In Tropoja, Kukës and on the Skurraj-Burrel axis, heavy rainfall and strong winds have caused rocks and debris to fall onto the road.
Maintenance teams have intervened immediately to clean the axes, ensuring normal traffic without blockages. On the Laç–Ura e Drojës axis, the overflow of the stream has flooded a segment of the road, where work is continuing to remove the water and restore traffic.
Meanwhile, on the Ersekë–Leskovik–3 Urat axis, debris has fallen, but maintenance companies have immediately intervened with vehicles and personnel to clean the roadway, guaranteeing the safe movement of vehicles.
Electricity supply
The Minister reported that the OSSH has mobilized around 1,500 employees to manage the situation. Currently, 26 feeders of the medium voltage network are out of service, but supply has improved significantly, reaching around 70% normalization nationwide.

Regarding the Drini cascade, a second front of high-intensity rainfall is expected, with forecasts of up to 80 mm in the Fierza basin and around 130 mm in the Koman–Vau i Dejës basin. The situation remains under control, with operational groups on full alert.
Drinking water supply
