Anti-informality, 9,000 businesses increase salaries - Revenues increase by 13

Since the launch of the anti-informality action, nearly 9 thousand businesses in the country have reacted by increasing the declaration of wages for their employees. On October 1, the Tax Administration sent a general notice to 130,000 taxpayers in the Republic of Albania, registered until the end of September 2024.

The message was focused on raising awareness and encouraging taxpayers to make accurate declarations in their payroll until October 20, the date that coincided with the submission of the payroll declaration for the month of September.

After this announcement about the initiative of the Albanian government against the informality of salaries, with consequences on citizens' pensions, the Tax Administration analyzed on the basis of risk all the declared payrolls to identify the taxpayers, which have also reflected the taxpayers with the risk of real non-declaration of salaries.

Referring to official data from the General Directorate of Taxes "as a result of this campaign, 9,000 taxpayers have reacted positively by reflecting in their payroll statements, after the first notification, increasing the declared salary fund by a total of 1.25 billion ALL ".

Also for the month of October 2024, the Tax Administration has achieved a significant increase in the collection of contributions, collecting 819 million ALL or 6% more than the planned plan.

After the results obtained from the analysis of all the payrolls declared in October 2024, the Tax Administration has identified 37,331 taxpayers at risk in the field of informality of wages, those who, despite the first notification, have not yet reacted.

For these 37,331 taxpayers, DPT has sent another notification, this time personalized, to give businesses the second and last chance to react, otherwise they will be subject to control according to the laws in force.
