Only 16 thousand entities earned 3.5 billion euros - Which of the sectors generated the most money in 2023?
The taxable profit made by large companies in the country, which are subject to the law on profit tax, reaches a value of 348.5 billion lek or about 3.5 billion euros. This profit was realized in total by 15,939 large entities operating in the country.

But how is this profit distributed by sector and which has had the best performance? Official financial data disclosed by SCAN show that the most profitable is the service and tourism sector, with a value of 110.2 billion ALL and consisting of 4364 entities in total.
Followed by the production sector, where the taxable profit is recorded in the amount of 93.6 billion ALL and includes nearly 2508 entities.
In third place is the trade sector with an accumulated profit of 87 billion lek, and includes 6470 entities, followed by the construction sector with 43.5 billion lek and 2 thousand entities.
While at the end, transport is ranked, where the profit generated is at the level of 14 billion lek, for 597 subjects. The profit tax rate for entities with income over 14 million ALL is at the level of 15%.
