AAPSK and GIZ organize training workshop on cryptoassets and virtual assets
The Agency for the Administration of Sequestered and Confiscated Assets (AAPSK), in collaboration with GIZ, organized today in Tirana the workshop "Crypto Currencies and Virtual Assets", with a focus on cryptoassets and their management within the framework of sequestration and confiscation processes.
This training activity, developed with the participation of international experts such as Richard Strike and Andrew Tennant, aimed to increase the capacities of AAPSK staff and administrators involved in the management of digital assets, including ways to track, seize and securely store cryptoassets.
The training included essential topics such as the difference between traditional currencies (FIAT) and cryptocurrencies, the structure of digital wallets and the security of "recovery seeds", blockchain technology and cryptography, as well as international legislation on VASPs and the risks of money laundering through cryptoassets.
During the workshop sessions, special attention was paid to the processes of seizing, storing and realizing cryptoassets, focusing also on mechanisms for preserving value, increasing profits and safe strategies for their sale or conversion.
This activity follows on from previous training conducted in collaboration with UNICEF and is part of the ongoing efforts of the AAPSK to ensure professional and up-to-date administration of seized or confiscated assets, in line with the latest technological developments and international standards.
