46.5 million euros for road maintenance - ARRSH opens tender for the next 4 years, 1,300 km of roads

With a limited fund of 4.47 billion lek or 46.5 million euros, the Albanian Road Authority has opened the tender for the performance maintenance of the main road axes in the country, for the next 4 years. In total, the maintenance of over 1,300 kilometers of roads is foreseen, divided into 4 contracts according to regions.
Contract A, which covers the northern region, includes 242.2 km of roads, including segments such as Milot–Lezhë, Shkodër–Hani i Hotit, Vau i Dejës–Pukë and connections to Kukës and Shëngjin, while the limit fund is about 815 million lekë. Meanwhile, contract B includes 294.1 kilometers of road axes in the central and northeastern region and has a limit fund of almost 1.1 billion lekë. Among the main segments are the connections Tirana–Rinas–Durrës, Thumanë–Milot, as well as the roads to Bulqiza and Peshkopia.
Contract C covers the eastern and southeastern part, includes about 403 km of road, including axes such as Elbasan–Qafë Thanë, Korçë–Kapshticë, Librazhd–Qukës and Lushnje–Berat and has a limit fund of 1.37 billion lekë, while contract D, for the southern region, includes about 374.1 kilometers of road, with segments such as Tepelena–Gjirokastër, Orikum–Himarë–Borsh, Levan–Vlorë and connections to Konispol. The limit fund for this contract is almost 1.2 billion lekë.
The "performance-based" maintenance model means that companies will be responsible for ensuring road standards throughout the contract period, including ongoing interventions such as repairs, cleaning, signage and, in some segments, even winter maintenance.
