How is the tourism map changing? - Hoxha: Prices of tourist packages increase by

The current year is presenting new challenges for the tourism sector. According to tour operator Jeta Hoxha, if last year this period marked an influx of tourist groups, currently there is a slowdown in the market. But above all, this situation is also changing the map of tourism.

"I can say for the moment that the current situation that is happening has created a bit of a bottleneck for the reservation part of tourists who want to come to our country, but also for our Albanian citizens who want to book their holidays abroad. Surprisingly, last year at this time we were quite better with the reservation part. Let's say that there was an influx of groups who wanted to come to our country, but this has also appeared in January of this year and in February. We have seen a fairly low number of tourists compared to last year. The tourists who are coming are mainly from European countries, not from Middle Eastern countries, because last year we had trips, direct flights from Middle Eastern countries to Albania throughout the year, and compared to the number that came from time to time, it has increased. This year we are only targeting the European part of the tourists, because the situation, as I mentioned a little earlier, has created a bottleneck of tourists and this is holding them back a bit. With the group of "The next one we have this coming weekend, we expect a much larger number of tourists, let's say over 30 people, but the number will be a bit small and we also look at the fear and the announcements that are spreading across the network."

But what will the prices of tourist packages be like this year?

"Every year we notice an increase in prices, but this year it started with 35% with prices that were quite expensive compared to last year. But if the situation continues and there are problems, this will affect the increase in prices even more because they follow the part of the problems that may come."

Hoxha warns that if tensions are not stopped, the sector could face another price increase.
