52 million euro fund, new agricultural support schemes approved, funds for livestock increased

The government has approved new agricultural support schemes for 2026, through a fund of 52 million euros. This year, the scheme has innovations, where oil support for farmers for mechanized agricultural work has been removed, and funding for livestock and beekeeping has been increased, halving the ceiling on the number of herds that farmers must have to benefit.
Specifically, referring to the decision, livestock farmers will be supported in the amount of up to 12 thousand lek/head, for the registered basic herd (reproductive animals), per farmer/applicant, with no less than 5 heads of cows and/or heifers. For the part over 50 heads, the benefit amount is reduced by 50%, excluding cases of applicants with the status of "Agricultural Cooperation Society (hereinafter SHBB)";
1500 lek/head will be provided for the registered basic herd (reproductive animals), per farmer/applicant, with no less than 50 heads of sheep/goats. For the part over 300 (three hundred) heads, the benefit amount is reduced by 50%, excluding the cases of applicants with “SHBB” status;
For beekeeping, the support has been doubled and the limit of hives that a farmer must have has been halved. Specifically, 2 thousand lek per hive will be provided, per farmer/applicant, with no less than 25 hives. For the part over 150 hives, the benefit amount is reduced by 50%, excluding the cases of applicants with “SHBB” status;
For registered sows and/or pre-sows, in the amount of up to 7 thousand lek per sow/pre-sow, per farmer/applicant, with no less than 5 sows and/or pre-sows.
For the part over 100 heads, the benefit amount is reduced by 50%, excluding cases of applicants with “SHBB” status;
For biological control of vegetable pests (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers) in greenhouses and/or strawberries in plastic tunnels, the benefit amount is 70% of the total value of the tax invoice, for the purchase of biological materials, including beneficial insects, but not more than 40 thousand lek per dunym, in the case of two plantings per year.
For organic farms for the transition period, the first year, 100 thousand lek are given, in the second and third year 150 thousand lek, and 200 thousand lek for a certified farm;
For the implementation and certification of global GAP, including coverage of the costs of product analysis in vegetables, fruits, grapes, olives, citrus fruits and other certifiable agricultural crops, at the rate of 50% of the total value of the tax invoice.
The government has determined that 2.5 billion lek from the total fund will go to support investments where young farmers, for investments in agricultural and livestock farms, will benefit from 70% of the total value of tax invoices, but not more than 1 million lek; for the construction/reconstruction of stables and/or equipment to improve conditions, the benefit amount is 70% of the value of tax invoices, but not more than 3 million lek per entity. For equipment, machinery and agricultural tools for the mechanization and modernization of work processes on agricultural and livestock farms, the benefit amount is 50% of the value of tax invoices, but not more than 500 thousand lek per entity and not less than 50 thousand lek per entity.
11.2 million lek will go towards the payment of the undelivered value for previous contracts and for undelivered values.
When the requests that have met the criteria are higher than the funds made available, then the funds are divided proportionally.
