The world's most valuable technology giants - Brand Finance publishes its Global 500 report
Technology companies continued to be some of the most valuable brands in the world this year, driven by continued brand loyalty as well as new innovations in artificial intelligence.
The world's 500 most valuable brands increased their value by 10% last year, reaching $9.5 trillion in 2025. This contrasted with global economic growth, which was recorded at 3%. Technology brands led this growth, with three of the top five being technology companies.
Brand Finance released its Global 500 report, which revealed the 500 most valuable brands globally for 2025.
Apple once again took the top spot, with a brand valuation of $574.5 billion, an 11% increase. The brand has held the top spot every year since 2021, with the exception of 2023, when it slipped by 1%, when Amazon took the top spot.
This year, Microsoft took second place, with its brand valuation increasing by 35% to $461.1 billion. Google came in third, with a brand valuation of $413 billion, up 24% from last year.
Amazon took fourth place, with a brand valuation of $356.4 billion, which was an increase of 15%, while Walmart came in fifth, with a valuation of $137.2 billion.
Samsung, TikTok/Douyin, Facebook, Nvidia and China's State Grid Corporation were also among the top 10 brands this year. Nvidia made the top 10 list for the first time, after increasing its brand value by 98% last year.
The United States accounted for 52.9% of the total brand value of the top 500 companies, according to Brand Finance, with 194 brands. China came in second with 15%, or 69 brands. In third place was Germany, with 5.8%, or 27 brands.
Although Japan, in fourth place, accounted for 5.1% of the total value, it had a larger number of marks than Germany, at 36. Similarly, France, in fifth place had 35 marks, accounting for only 4.4% of the total value.
Coming in at the top industry in terms of brand value, banks took first place with 12.7% of the total value, with 78 brands. Retail followed with 11.4%, while media was in third place with 10.3% of the total. The electronics industry accounted for 8.2% of the total brand value and the internet and software industry with 6.5%.
