New electricity network in mountainous areas - Substation in Tamara, OSSH opens tenders with a fund limit of 770 million lek
With a total fund limit of 770 million lek, the Distribution System Operator has opened two tenders for the construction of new power lines and the improvement of energy supply infrastructure in mountainous areas in the north of the country, with a focus on Malësia e Madhe and the Tamara area.
The first project envisages the construction of a new 35 kV line from the Vukpalaj/Hani i Hotit Substation to Tamara, with a length of about 20 kilometers, as well as the construction of a new 35/10 kV substation in Tamara. It aims to increase distribution capacity and security of energy supply, supporting the development of tourism and the local economy.
The second project focuses on the construction of a new 35 kV line with two circuits from the 220 kV Koplik Substation to Vukpalaj and the branch towards Hani i Hotit, with a length of about 15 kilometers. According to the tender documents, the investment will enable more stable supply and will create the conditions for the construction of the new substation in Tamara.
Both projects aim to replace the existing lines, built over 40 years ago and now depreciated, where the load during the winter reaches up to 90% of capacity. This is expected to bring not only a significant improvement in the energy supply for residents, but also to open new opportunities for the development of tourism and businesses in the mountainous areas of Malësia e Madhe.
