There are about 40 thousand people who reach retirement age every year. With the officialization of the legal changes, these people will no longer need to go to court to have their missing years of work before '94 recognized, as their recognition will be done automatically by the Social Security Institute.
During the discussion of the draft law in the Assembly, the Head of the Institute of Social Security, Astrit Hado, said that those who are in administrative procedures will also benefit from this initiative.
"We have discussed this and have decided that it will be recognized to all those citizens who reach retirement age at the time the law enters into force and those who are in administrative procedures. Which means, who is in court, who is in administrative appeal, we will automatically suspend the appeal procedures and we will also recognize these people. Meanwhile, those who have retired, have gone to court, have had it overturned or have not followed the judicial path, will not be recognized. Because if this were to be opened, and it were to be recognized to everyone, it would be necessary to technically and theoretically recalculate 720 thousand pensions ," said Hado.
The draft law "On the recognition of years of work before 1994" is expected to be formalized within the first quarter of this year, thus facilitating the practice of recognizing these periods for the purpose of calculating pensions.
