How are Albanians using Artificial Intelligence? 93.13% from ChatGPT, but also new applications
Artificial Intelligence is being used massively all over the world, thanks to its benefits and the opportunity it gives people to facilitate work, tasks, and the creation of various documents. Of course, Albanians have not escaped the use of this new technological platform either.
This data comes from Statcounter, providing information on the use of chatbots in Albania during June 2025.
But in which applications is artificial intelligence used the most? ChatGPT holds the lead, bringing even faster use due to the facilities it offers, such as instant responses and the replacement of traditional search engines. The artificial intelligence provided by ChatGPT accounts for about 93.13% of Albanian users. This advanced use comes as a result of its simplicity in use and advanced functionality. With the exception of some small fluctuations between April and June 2025, ChatGPT has consistently remained above 90% of use in Albania.
In addition to ChatGPT, several other chatbot alternatives have begun to appear in the Albanian market, although with much smaller usage percentages.
Microsoft Copilot holds second place with 3.01%, being used mainly by professionals who are part of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, which is often used to create more professional and interesting documents.
Perplexity, a search engine with a conversational interface, has reached 1.45% and is gaining attention for its fast and accurate responses.
Google Gemini, despite the power of the giant Google, is currently at only 1.2% partly due to limited language support and localization.
Claude and DeepSeek, two newer platforms in this market, have entered later and remain with a minimal presence in Albania (under 1%), but are interesting for the more technical segments that require more advanced experiences in the field of AI.
This diversity shows that, although ChatGPT dominates, the Albanian market is slowly expanding with alternative options, which may gain more ground in the future.
