Investment scheme, 251 contracts signed/ Funds disbursed to 7 beneficiaries in 4 months
The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development has signed 251 contracts with businesses in the agricultural field during the first 4 months of this year, from which funds have been disbursed to only 7 beneficiaries worth 5.5 million lek.
According to the 2025 budget implementation document, the remaining disbursement is expected to be completed by August.
The 2024 investment scheme supports farmers in several measures, such as agricultural mechanization, construction of stables and facilities; solar greenhouses; anti-venom nets as well as aquaculture, and the fund is 5 million euros.
The application process for the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024 ended on November 8, 2024, while the deadline for submitting documents was extended to February 28, 2025.
According to official data from the Albanian Agricultural Investment Agency (AZHBR), the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024 has registered a total of 404 applications. Of these, 360 applications that met the selection criteria were received in the initial phase.
The highest interest was for investments in farm mechanization with 305 applications and for the construction of livestock stables and poultry facilities with 49 applications. Meanwhile, the number of applications for measures related to solar greenhouses and aquaculture was more limited. The regions with the highest demand for this scheme are Fier, Vlora and Korça, reflecting the interest of farmers for support in these areas with agricultural and livestock traditions.
Financial support is an important initiative for the modernization of agriculture and livestock, providing opportunities for sustainable development and increased competitiveness in local and international markets, especially in regions with high production potential.
The government has also made 5.5 million euros available to support the agricultural sector during 2025 through the Investment Scheme, significantly expanding the range of potential beneficiaries.
