Albania vs Kosovo, how much were the bilateral investments? In the first half of the year, the two countries invested about 102 million euros in each other's markets
Trade and economic relations between Albania and Kosovo have developed significantly in recent years. Bilateral investment demands have led to increased interest between the two countries, which is reflected in investment figures as well as foreign trade year after year.
If in 2019, Albanian investments in Kosovo were only registered at 12 million euros, in 2020 they tripled, reaching 32.2 million euros. After a slight decline in 2021, the trend picked up again in the following years. In 2022, Albanian investments in Kosovo rose to 38.4 million euros, while in 2023 they reached 32.9 million. The record was set in 2024, when the value of investments increased to 56.1 million euros, while for the first half of this year the figure stands at 39.2 million euros, indicating a considerable level that keeps Kosovo in the focus of Albanian capital.
On the other hand, the dynamics of Kosovo's investments in Albania have been even stronger. In 2019, the figure was symbolic, only 2.9 million euros, while a year later it rose to 4.67 million. Real growth began in 2021, when Kosovo's investments in Albania reached 20.25 million euros, to increase further to 29.01 million in 2022. The year 2023 brought stabilization at the level of 28.09 million euros, while in 2024 the trend took a new impetus with 41.69 million. The peak was marked in the first half of 2025, when Kosovo's investments in Albania increased significantly to 62.74 million euros, thus marking the highest historical level of the decade.
The data also shows that the areas where most of the capital is concentrated are real estate, construction and manufacturing, which remain the most preferred sectors by Albanian investors in Kosovo.
