New opportunities for small businesses - Modern infrastructure for Vlora merchants
The Municipality of Vlora has announced the opening of the tender for the revitalization of traditional and agri-food markets. The project aims to revitalize an important economic space in Vlora, transforming the former rice market into a modern center of trade and agri-food. This initiative is part of the strategy to improve urban infrastructure and modernize local trade, creating a sustainable and functional environment for traders and consumers.
According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, the project is focused on the area where the former Rice Market, one of the traditional markets of the city of Vlora, was located. This area has had an important role in the traditional markets of the city, but over the years its infrastructure has become inadequate and requires improvements. This project aims to create a multifunctional market that offers suitable spaces for agricultural and traditional trade, integrating an urban and architectural approach.
The revitalization is expected to have a major economic and social impact, including increased economic activity, as well as creating new opportunities for traders and small businesses. With the expansion of the markets and supporting infrastructure, new jobs are expected to be created in various sectors, such as: trade, services and logistics. Also, the creation of a modern market will create a safer and more attractive environment for the community, the document states.
Likewise, modern and functional structures will be created with spacious and organized spaces for trade, as well as an appropriate infrastructure to accommodate daily activities. The spaces are divided into areas dedicated to sales, storage and services, ensuring easy and efficient circulation for customers. The plan also includes connections to main roads for easy access by vehicles. Meanwhile, the estimated limit fund for this project is 22 million and 768 thousand lekë.
