Spring starts well for Albanian tourism - 21.9% more visitors and 30% more nights spent in March
Tourism in Albania seems to be recording increasingly positive results, attracting a large number of visitors from the region, Europe and beyond. According to data published by INSTAT in March 2025, accommodation structures recorded a significant increase in visitors and nights of stay, compared to the same month last year.
The total number of visitors to Albania increased by 21.9%, bringing the number of visitors, both residents and non-residents, to 86,839. Resident visitors increased by 13.9%, while non-residents increased by 27.3%. In terms of nights spent, the data shows a total increase of 30.8%.
For this season, data shows that tourists have preferred non-coastal areas and hotels in their vicinity, which have marked an increase of 27.6%. Statistics show that the central region has received the largest number of tourists, with 61,618 visitors during the month of February. It is followed by the northern region with 13,250 visitors, while the southern region has reached 11,971 visitors during this month, being the least frequented for this month.
Among non-resident tourists who chose Albania as a destination, Italy took first place with 23% of visitors, marking an increase compared to the previous month. After Italy, Kosovo ranks with 15%, Germany with 10%, as well as France and the United Kingdom, which contributed with 3% and 7% of tourists respectively in this period.
Another important trend is the increase in visitors from other European countries, who accounted for 42% of the total foreign tourists. INSTAT also reports that the occupancy rate of hotel rooms reached 18.4%, marking a slight increase from 17.3% in March 2024.
