Our country will have a special cadastre for olive trees and vineyards. In the official report made by the Ministry of Agriculture, on the work done during this year, it is stated that for the program "Creation of the Olive Cadastre", preliminary information has been provided by August for the areas cultivated with olive groves in the administrative units of the municipalities of Fier, Mallakastër, Patos, Lushnje of the Fier district, as well as in the municipality of Çorovodë of the Berat district, for about 13,000 olive grove units.
Meanwhile, at the end of the year, it turns out that a total of 13,857 olive units were registered, for which the Ministry of Agriculture already has complete information on how old they are, their productivity, etc.
Also, for the program "Updating the Vineyard Cadastre", at the beginning of the year, a program was prepared and approved with objectives, expected results, planned expenditures, as well as a schedule of activities for the realization of the planned objectives.
By August, preliminary information was provided on the areas cultivated with new vineyards, uprooted vineyards, and plots with vineyards over 500m2 in the municipalities of Kuçovë and Çorovodë. Training was also conducted with 60 specialists in the Agricultural Extension Sectors in the Berat, Kukës, Durrës and Fier regions with the objective of “Information on Law No. 86/22 on “Viticulture and Wine” and the by-laws” on the obligations and responsibilities of SEBs in the implementation of this law. The olive and viticulture sectors are among the most promising in agriculture in terms of interest and the income they generate for farmers.
