Expansion of the Tirana-Durrës expressway, ARRSH: From September 1-3, traffic restrictions at night
As part of the ongoing works for the implementation of the project "Expansion of the Tirana-Durres Superhighway (Phase III)", and in implementation of the Traffic Management Plan, works will be carried out to install metal beams in the central area of the new Kashari overpass.
For the safe implementation of these works, on September 1, 2 and 3, 2026, between 23:00 and 05:00, there will be a temporary closure of traffic lanes in both directions of the main Tirana-Durres and Durres-Tirana axis.
During this time interval, vehicle traffic will be managed and diverted according to the following scheme:
• Tirana–Durrës route
Vehicles will be diverted via the temporary ramp towards Rinas and will continue their movement on the secondary road. The return to the highway will be via the Rinas road and the respective ramp towards Durrës.
• Heavy vehicles, especially trucks
Due to the traffic characteristics and the works to be carried out, heavy vehicles will be diverted from the "Casa Italia" junction, continuing via the secondary road.
• Durrës–Tirana route
Vehicles will be diverted via the Kashar-Thumanë overpass, continuing on the secondary road on the left side, until after the Kashar overpass, from where they will return to the highway.
• Vehicles with destinations Rinas, Shkodra and Kosovo
These vehicles will be signaled and oriented as soon as they cross the Kashar-Thumanë highway, to continue in the appropriate direction.
Temporary road signage will be present throughout the intervention period, while drivers are asked to strictly follow the signage and instructions of personnel engaged in traffic management.
The ARA requests the understanding and cooperation of drivers, businesses, and residents of the area regarding the temporary traffic restrictions.
Drivers are recommended to plan their route in advance and avoid, as much as possible, driving on this segment during the work period.
