The government has changed the allocation of funds for hospital services during 2026. The budget amounts to 39.3 billion lek, while the largest funding goes to the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center, with over 13 billion lek.

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the total budget for hospital services amounts to around 39.3 billion lek. The largest share is received by the QSUT, with 13.06 billion lek, or around one third of the entire fund.

Of this amount, over 7.2 billion lek is earmarked for goods and services, including medicines, medical supplies and other operating expenses. Around 4.1 billion lek goes for salaries, while over 1 billion lek is related to laboratory services provided through public-private partnerships.

After QSUT, the highest funding is foreseen for the "Shefqet Ndroqi" University Hospital, with around 1.94 billion lek, Shkodra Hospital with 1.62 billion, and the hospitals of Elbasan, Vlora, Korça and Fier, with between 1 and 1.3 billion lek each.

In addition to the hospital budgets, 1.73 billion lek is planned for health service packages, while 1.4 billion lek will be used for PPP service payments. The Fier Memorial Hospital is funded with about 1.05 billion lek and the Durrës Hospital with 1.73 billion.  

In total, around 15.4 billion lek will go to staff salaries and 2.5 billion lek to social and health insurance. Meanwhile, around 12.94 billion lek are foreseen for goods and services.
