Malaj gathers Tax and Customs leaders: "Stronger control, but with transparency and correctness"
The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, has held meetings with the regional heads of the tax and customs administration, where the focus was on the objectives for the coming period, strengthening fiscal control and improving services to citizens and businesses.
The meetings were held in the presence of the General Directors of Taxes and Customs, with discussions on the priorities of the two administrations, the fight against tax evasion and informality, as well as improving relations with taxpayers and economic entities.
Minister Malaj emphasized that increasing control and guaranteeing the collection of public revenues must go hand in hand with professionalism, correctness and respect for citizens and businesses.
According to him, the fight against tax evasion and informality should not be in conflict with an administration that acts fairly and transparently.
"The administration must be correct with the law, polite and fair with citizens," said Malaj, underlining that every entity that contributes to the Albanian economy must be treated with respect and transparency.
During the meetings, the minister also referred to the concept of "Besa", describing it as the political contract that Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government propose to the citizens.
According to Malaj, this contract aims to restore trust capital through a more accountable, transparent and measurable state in its performance.
In conclusion, the minister requested that the best services, transparency and correctness continue to be at the center of the work of the tax and customs administration.
The goal, according to the Ministry of Finance, is to build a more efficient and accountable administration, which strengthens fiscal control and revenue collection, but at the same time stays closer to citizens and taxpayers.
