Vetevendosje and LDK agree on the new President of Kosovo – Here is who is proposed

The Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo have reached an agreement on the candidate to be proposed for the position of the new President of Kosovo. The name agreed upon by the two parties is Bekim Sejdiu.
LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku confirmed the agreement, announcing that Sejdiu is the proposed candidate for head of state. Abdixhiku did not provide details on the content of the agreement with Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti, but called for the new institutions to be constituted as soon as possible.
According to Abdixhiku, the two parties have held continuous meetings since July 9, with the aim of finding a political solution and guaranteeing institutional stability in the country.
The negotiations, according to him, have been intense and difficult, but both sides have continued their efforts to reach an agreement.
Bekim Sejdiu himself has confirmed that he has accepted Abdixhiku and Kurti's request to run for the position of President of the Republic of Kosovo.
Who is Bekim Sejdiu?
Bekim Sejdiu is a career lawyer and diplomat, with experience in international relations and Kosovo institutions.
He has also served as a judge at the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, building a career in the legal and institutional field.
In diplomacy, Sejdiu held the post of consul in Ankara during the years 2008–2012, within the Kosovo diplomatic service.
His candidacy comes within the framework of the efforts of political parties to unblock the institutional situation and form new institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
