Vengu receives NATO commander: Determined to modernize the Armed Forces!
Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, received in an official meeting the Commander of NATO Supreme Command Transformation, Admiral Pierre Vandier.
During the conversation, Albania's unwavering commitment to modernizing the Armed Forces and increasing defense capacities was highlighted, through sustainable investments in industry and innovation.
"Faced with current security challenges, we are determined to adapt the way we plan, train and operate, in close cooperation with the Alliance," the minister declared.
He emphasized that this is a historic responsibility to guarantee effective security in an increasingly complex environment.
"The lessons learned from current security challenges place us before a historic responsibility to adapt the way the Armed Forces plan, train and operate in interaction with the Alliance," the minister emphasized.
Vengu also highlighted the increase in regional cooperation with allied countries in the Adriatic-Ionian space and Albania's strategic role in the region.
Investments in advanced technology, artificial intelligence and cyber defense, according to the minister, constitute strong foundations to guarantee a rapid and successful response, both in military operations and in civilian missions of critical importance.
