Mobile internet, we are faster than the Germans! We rank 47th in the world with 87.12 megabits per second
Since the modernization of mobile phones, they have become an important and inseparable part of our social life, also taking over some of the functions that were previously performed by computers. In addition to computers, we also use the Internet on our phones, but sometimes we face problems such as low speed and unstable networks.
When it comes to mobile internet, Albania ranks 47th out of 102 countries surveyed, according to data provided by Speedtest.net. We surf the mobile internet at an average speed of 87.12 megabits per second. But how is the situation in other countries in the region? According to the data, North Macedonia offers the fastest mobile internet speed in the region with 154 megabits per second, ranking 17th globally. Montenegro and Kosovo also have fast internet
Kosovo ranks 46th in the world with an average speed of 87.3 megabits per second, while Montenegro ranks 44th with an average speed of 90 megabits per second. Then come Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are ranked near the bottom of the list. In Serbia, citizens use the Internet on their phones at a speed of 70.9 megabits per second, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina the speed is only 28.16 megabits per second.
What is striking is that mobile internet in Albania is significantly faster than in some developed countries. Among the countries with the lowest speed values are Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, etc. The country with the highest mobile internet speed is the United Arab Emirates, where it reaches 543 megabits per second, followed by other Arab countries such as Qatar and Kuwait.
Meanwhile, the countries with the slowest mobile internet speeds are Belarus, Syria and Bolivia. These data show that technological development in the field of the internet does not always depend on the economic development of a country. Improving digital infrastructure remains essential to meet the ever-growing demands of users.
