Cyberattacks/ Rama: We are strengthening protection in the public sector. The private sector is not at the same pace!
Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting in Berat today with representatives of technology, innovation and start-ups, to discuss the path taken in this sector and the challenges for Albania 2030 in the European Union.
The Prime Minister focused on the measures taken against cyberattacks, expressing concern that the private sector is not moving at the same pace as the public sector in this regard.
"We should not in any way neglect the issue of sovereignty, which has returned with great force to the discussion table in all countries where the tendency to make them independent from global services is increasingly strong in order to protect against gaps where actors with bad intentions against the country can penetrate through cyber attacks," said Rama.
For this reason, Rama emphasized that considerable progress has been made and we have our own iCloud in our digital services.
"But I am aware of how many gaps we have, especially in the private sector where there is a huge lack of information and awareness of what damages can come from exposure to cyberattacks ," he said.
Rama also added that "while protection in the public sector is being strengthened day by day, we are concerned that the private sector is not moving at the same pace."
"Here again we can build awareness mechanisms and at the same time we can have an offer for the private sector, considering the talents you have managed to gather and the quality of your products," said the Prime Minister.
