"Reduction of tax on salaries and "0" tax for freelance professions - Berisha: "Made in Albania", the increase in domestic production will increase employment and salaries"
"Zero taxes for freelancers and small businesses, reduction of income tax, reduction of property sales tax or reduction of fuel prices." These are some of the points of the Democratic Party's economic program for the May 11 parliamentary elections.
In a press conference, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha spoke, among other things, about the second pillar called "Made in Albania", which focuses on domestic production and which, according to him, will increase employment and wages.
"For this purpose, we are committed to guaranteeing fair, legal and secure competitiveness. To guarantee the lowest level of taxes in Europe. To ensure the greatest deregulation in the interest of business. To ensure the friendliest climate, and this not with words, but with deeds, laws, concrete decisions. In this context, a 10% tax on income from work will be applied, excluding the first 50 thousand lek. A 10% tax on other income, not from salary. Zero taxation on freelancers and small businesses. The annual ceiling for profit tax, zero for small businesses, will be 18 million lek, or 500 euros per day. The VAT exemption limit will also be 18 million lek annual turnover, or 500 euros per day ," he said.
Berisha promised to reduce the property sales tax from 15% to 2%, while a fiscal cadastre will be created to determine reference prices. He also promised to reduce fuel taxes, which affect their final price.
"The 'Rama' fuel tax is being reduced and fuel will not be sold in Albania at a price that differs by +-10% from that of Kosovo and Macedonia," said Berisha.
Also, according to the chief democrat, inspections by various inspectors in businesses will be reduced by 4 times, and fiscal legislation will be simplified, to ensure the sustainability of the fiscal code and laws. In parallel, in the entrepreneurship program there are several categories that will have special treatment, such as youth, women and the diaspora.
For young people up to 25 years of age, an exemption from social and health insurance for 12 months is foreseen, for the first employment of young people by the entrepreneur up to the age of 25. According to Berisha, 4 free economic zones will be created, while for farmers there will be direct support, more specifically subsidies for each production unit, for each head of livestock and seedlings planted.
