Reducing the price of energy - The relationship is clarified, the "weight" of the costs will be borne by KESH
The price reduction for family subscribers who consume up to 700 kWh of electricity per month was argued with the improvement of the financial situation of the public companies of the electricity sector, as it seems that the Albanian Electricity Corporation will hold the largest weight in terms of income.
TV SCAN clarifies the report prepared by the Energy Regulatory Authority, where the calculations that led to the revision of the tariffs are given. According to the document, KESH has reduced the price at which it will sell energy to OSHEE to supply universal service customers, from 2.6 Lek/kWh which was currently, to 2.34 Lek/kWh. This move therefore brings a reduction in energy purchase costs for OSHEE, but less income for KESH.
Also, the report states that the estimates regarding the costs of setting retail prices for universal service customers for the year 2025 are based on the assumptions that all customers in the 10 kV voltage will be supplied in the free market. In total, there are 2,600 businesses connected to this tension that have been notified to choose their supplier, disconnecting from the regulated tariffs.
Meanwhile, it is estimated that the revenues required by the Universal Service Provider, part of the OSHEE Group for the year 2025 result in the value of 50.163 million ALL and the new tariffs enable their provision for the company's function.
According to the new tariffs, families that consume up to 700 kWh per month will pay for energy at 8.5 ALL/kWh, excluding VAT. Meanwhile, for families with consumption from 701 kWh per month and beyond, there is no change, as the price will continue to be 9.5 ALL/kWh, excluding VAT. Families who currently have energy bills of up to 8,000 ALL per month will benefit from the change in the charging scheme.
