Insurance companies have paid a total of 7.7 billion ALL in claims in the period January-November 2024, where most of the gross claims paid belong to motor insurance. Claims payments have increased by 25.7% compared to the period January - September 2023. The number of claims paid has increased by 9,155 reaching the figure of 66,895, of which 63,751 claims were paid by non-Life insurance companies and 3,144 by non-Life insurance companies. life insurance.
Given that the largest number of contracts and gross written premiums was registered for insurance in the non-life category, the value of claims paid is also higher in the non-life activity. Thus, about 7 billion ALL claims were paid for motor insurance, property and other activities not related to the life of the individual, while only 306 million ALL claims were paid from life insurance.
The fact that almost 73% of the total gross paid claims belong to motor insurance is a reflection of the high numbers of accidents throughout this year. Official data from INSTAT show that in 11 months, a total of 1,517 accidents were recorded, almost 34.5% more than last year. Only during the month of November, 173 road accidents occurred.
