The new price of energy/not billing with bundles, but according to consumption/

"One of the most significant achievements of our government, the first decrease in the history of these 35 years of electricity prices".

This is how Prime Minister Edi Rama considered the latest decision to reduce the price of energy for household consumers. During a media conference together with the Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku, Rama emphasized that this is a more than well thought out measure, widely discussed at all levels with internal and international expertise. According to him, today Albania produces 196 megawatts of electricity from private family entities or businesses, and in second place is Serbia with 1/4 of Albania's production. Also, he promised that within the fourth term, Albania will become a net exporter of electricity.

"Today Albania has 10% of its production from the sun. When we entered this phase it was zero. Today it is 10% and today we are talking about over 300 megawatts of production which is based on our policy of support for portfolio diversification in function of Albania's full energy sovereignty and Albania's return to a net energy exporter within the fourth mandate and together with production that is not part of the framework of our support measures, there are 500 megawatts in total, but more important than that, today in the channel of investments that are expected based on the applications of new we have 1300 megawatts of solar energy, 1.3 giga. Which means in total we will reach the target of 30% of total energy production from sources other than water, I mean the sun, I also mean the 300 megawatts of wind energy that are projects already put into the process.

For her part, Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku listed the most important factors that led to the decision to reduce electricity for household consumers.

"The main reason for the decrease in the price of energy is due to the performance of the companies in the sector. The reduction of technical losses to 17.93% is another factor. The rate of collection of consumed energy has been increasing from year to year and currently stands at 100.5%. State companies contributed significantly to the price reduction".

During the press conference, the prime minister said that next week, together with the deputy prime minister and a delegation, we will go to Abu Dhabi for another historic moment, not Albania as Albania for its consumers, but Albania as an energy actor at the level European. It is learned that a tripartite agreement will be signed between the United Emirates, Italy and Albania for the underwater transmission line.
