Transactions with the AIPS system reach a record number - The value of payments made increased by 13%, while the number increased by 10%
Last month recorded a record figure in terms of the number of transactions with AIPS. According to the data from the Bank of Albania, regarding the month of October, the number of such transactions reached about 31 thousand, increasing by 10% compared to the previous month, where there was a decrease in their number.
Regarding the value of the transactions that were registered during the last month, the figure reached 482 million euros, 63 million more than the month of September.
Marking in this way the highest number throughout its history. In total, the number of transactions during the first 10 months of the year with AIPS reached 265,000, compared to the 10 months of last year, the number of transactions has more than doubled.
Regarding the value of the transactions, the total in the January-October period has reached 4.2 billion euros, surpassing the total recorded in the entire past year, although there are still 2 months left before the end of the year.
The high-value interbank payment system, AIPS, is the Albanian real-time gross payment settlement system of the Bank of Albania that serves to execute the settlement of systemically important payments within the territory of our country, irrevocably and unconditionally .
The purpose of the system is to increase the processing and settlement of large value payments and other gross interbank transactions in real time, as well as the elimination of systemic risk.
