Record traffic at Tirana International Airport, Rama: On August 17, 60,291 passengers were processed

Tirana International Airport experienced its highest traffic peak in history during August. The figures were brought to the public's attention by Prime Minister Rama, who shared a video of the airport on his social networks. In the attached explanation, the Prime Minister, among other indicators, also talks about the record reached on August 17. Rama emphasizes:
The high figures at Tirana International Airport continue, with 1.717 million passengers processed during this month alone, until August 27.
A record on August 17, when the airport handled 60,291 passengers and 326 flights in a single day. The main destinations by passenger numbers were Italy, England, Poland, Turkey and Belgium with 79 destinations in total. During this day, the Airport operated with 32 airlines, reflecting the continuous growth of Albania's air connections with international destinations. A new record for TIA and another testament to Albania's growth as an international destination.
Even during the month of July, Tirana International Airport processed nearly 1.65 million, 28.1% higher than in the same month last year.
In its April 2026 airport traffic report, the European Civil Aviation Organization again ranked Tirana as the airport with the fastest monthly growth in the major airport category, the prime minister wrote in his post.
