Foreigners and minors, in focus of inspections - Muçaj: "Inspectorate 2.0", controls according to EU standards

In addition to increased controls in the construction and tourism sectors, where the Labor Inspectorate is mostly focused, Chief Inspector Eljo Muçaj told TV Scan that in the second half of this year, the focus will be on foreign workers and the employment of minors.
"Another element added during the summer period, more so and in the future, is the control of foreign workers, who are present and are a reality in our inspections, as their number is constantly increasing from year to year. But here it is also worth highlighting the employment of children or minors, are they implemented, is there employment, where this employment is, is it within the parameters and measures determined by the law, or other vulnerable groups, including discrimination or harassment in the workplace."
In parallel with the controls, the Inspectorate aims to align its operating standards with those of the European Union countries. The objective is to establish the so-called "Inspectorate 2.0", as part of the obligations related to the European integration process.
"A major objective where the Labor Inspectorate has an important role is the integration process. The focus of the Inspectorate is Inspectorate 2.0, which is the Inspectorate that will be equal to any, or like any Inspectorate of a European Union country. And this is a real, tangible objective and has the full focus and full support of both our team of this institution, but also of the Ministry, which is the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, which is responsible for labor and labor relations."
