Albania-Greece technical meeting in Athens: Implementation of the “Green

The Albanian and Greek Customs Administrations held a technical meeting in Athens to advance the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding in the customs field, signed in December 2025.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Independent Public Revenue Authority, with the participation of representatives from both countries and the CEFTA Secretariat, within the framework of the European "Green Lanes" initiative.

The focus of the discussions was on the preliminary exchange of data between the parties, with the aim of accelerating customs procedures and facilitating the movement of goods at the border. The parties also addressed the use of the SEED system, the integration of IT systems and the improvement of inter-institutional communication.

During the meeting, further steps were agreed to increase the efficiency of controls and strengthen technical cooperation, aiming to reduce waiting times and facilitate cross-border trade.

The Memorandum on "Green Lanes" aims to modernize customs cooperation between Albania and Greece and align procedures with European Union standards, in function of the country's European integration.
