Indicative salary in the medical and aesthetic sector - Taxes warn of checks for

The Tax Administration has published the list of indicative salaries for professions in the medical and personal care sector, establishing a concrete reference for identifying possible cases of non-declaration of real salaries.

According to the list, indicative salaries vary depending on specialization. For example, a doctor in specialized surgery, such as neurosurgery or cardiac surgery, should declare a salary of around 215,000 lek per month, while for general practitioners the reference level is around 163,000 lek. Family and primary care physicians have an indicative salary of 165,000 lek, while specialists such as cardiologists, neurologists or gastroenterologists around 200,000 lek per month.

At lower levels, general nurses have an indicative salary of 100,000 lek, pharmacists and midwives around 110,000 lek, while medical and dental assistants around 85,000 lek. In the dental sector, dentists are referred to with a salary of around 110,000 lek, while dental technicians around 80,000 lek.

Meanwhile, in the personal care sector, indicative salaries are lower, starting at 75,000 lek for barbers and hairdressers, and around 80,000 lek for estheticians, beauticians or manicurists. Personal trainers have a higher reference level, around 120,000 lek per month.

The Tax Administration emphasizes that this list will be used as a tool for risk analysis, comparing the salaries declared by the entities with the indicative levels. Taxpayers who declare salaries below these levels, or who change the categorization of the profession to artificially reduce the salary, will be considered at risk and will be subject to verifications.

The authorities call on entities operating in these sectors to accurately declare real salaries, in accordance with applicable legislation.

According to the Tax Administration, these measures aim to increase social security contributions and guarantee more dignified pensions for employees in the health and aesthetic services sector.
