The government "unties the bill" for religious communities, in 2026 the budget will pay 203 million lek

At today's meeting, the government approved a funding of two hundred and three million lek, from the 2026 budget, to financially support religious communities. According to the government's decision, the funding will be allocated to:
The Muslim Community of Albania received 57.3 million lekë, of which twenty-eight million for the salaries of 94 administration employees and twenty-nine million for employees of preschool, pre-university and university education institutions.
The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania benefits from the amount of 48.6 million lekë: twenty-four million for the administration and twenty-four million for employees of preschool, pre-university and university education institutions.
The Catholic Church in Albania benefits from the sum of 48.6 million lekë: 15 million for the administration and 33 million for education employees.
The World Bektashi Patriarchate benefits from 48.5 million lekë: 9 million for administration, 28 million lekë as a contribution to the construction of the Shtufi Tekke, Gjirokastra, and 11.5 million due to its special position as the World Patriarchate, based in Tirana.
