The economy "needs" more money, reprinting of the 5,000 lek banknote approved

The Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania has approved the reprinting of the Albanian metal coin with legal tender value of 20 Lekë and the Albanian banknote with legal tender value of 5000 Lekë. The relevant decisions providing for the reprinting of the metal coin of 20 Lekë and the banknote of 5000 Lekë are aimed at meeting the economy's requirements for money, in value and structure, as well as ensuring a regular supply of them, for a period of several years. The reprinting of banknotes and coins is a common procedure for central banks which are responsible for supplying the monetary system with money.
