Foreign investments, in the filter - Ibrahimaj: Inter-ministerial board for critical sectors

Investments coming from countries outside the European Union in the fields of media and defense will be reviewed by an inter-ministerial board.
The news was announced by the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, after the approval of the act at the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
"The second act is related to the integration process. With the decision of the Council of Ministers on the Regulation on the Review of Foreign Investments in Critical Sectors of the Albanian Economy, we conclude all the milestones of Chapter 30. Through this newly approved act and a mechanism of a board headed by the Minister of Economy, an inter-ministerial board, we will review all investments coming from non-EU member countries. Initially in the field of media and defense. After EU membership, this board will review requests for foreign investments in critical sectors of the Albanian economy."
Further, Ibrahimaj emphasized that a 100 million euro fund has also been approved to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
Another act approved at the government meeting is the draft law on electronic identification, trusted services and the digital identity portfolio, which aims to put an end to paper documents and signatures through the creation of this portfolio.
