"Consumer protection, essential for integration" - Inspection reform, Sula: The law has been aligned with the EU

Inspector General, Dashnor Sula, held a roundtable with the addiction inspectorates. In his speech, Sula said that the aim is to improve control standards and consumer protection, as an important element for the integration process.
“Improving standards and protecting consumers is essential for meeting EU requirements.
Reform of the inspection system, important for quality human resources and to strengthen the control of standards in the country.
When the inspection system functions well, trust in institutions increases, security is guaranteed, and citizens' rights are protected.
When the system does not function according to standards, trust is damaged, creating space for informality, abuse and risk to the public interest. This places responsibility on us as an inspection body. The law is mainly aligned with the EU, the problem is the real and uniform implementation of the law. The new law on inspection sets a new standard for the functioning of the public control system in the country, creates a clear framework for the methodology and transparency in inspection activity in general", said Sula
Sula added that the reform aims to transform from a fragmented system to a system with unified standards.
This Wednesday, Sula concluded the cycle of meetings with subordinate institutions, whom he advised to do their work with integrity and implement the law.
