How did the TXEX fraud scheme work? - Dokuzi: It was a chain effect. Commissions

The pyramid scheme "XEUX", or as it is otherwise known, "TXEX", is not the first nor the last to appear on social networks.

The scheme worked simply: one individual would recommend someone else, creating a chain effect, with each receiving commissions from the other. But, in the end, the fraudster who created the platform would reach the deposit target and then leave the “game.”

Shahin Dokuzi, an expert on cryptocurrencies, says:  “Fraudulent platforms have always existed, but now it seems that Albanians are deceiving Albanians themselves. As a people, we have a mania for quick profit and, due to a lack of information, we invest without thinking long and hard. In the end, this only brings losses.”

According to him, these individuals use the social network Telegram, where they create groups, post videos and photos with advertising effects, and even invent daily profits to lure victims. Through this tactic, they deceive citizens with requests for relatively small amounts, usually 1 thousand or 2 thousand euros.

"The idea is to attract people with small amounts. Many have asked me about these platforms and, even though I tell them not to invest, they still come in. Telegram doesn't have verifications like WhatsApp, so even if one page is closed, they open another one right away, " Dokuzi adds.

Experts emphasize that investments on dubious websites focused on cryptocurrencies are increasingly becoming a threat to Albanian individuals. The lack of information and the desire for quick profits make citizens easy prey for these fraudulent schemes. Therefore, according to them, awareness is the only protection.
