How should Albanian employers change their mindset? - Muça: The employee should be treated as a partner, not simply as a source of work

In 2026, the main challenge for Albanian employers is no longer just finding staff, but keeping them engaged, motivated and productive. Employment expert Erion Muça emphasizes that the change must start from the mindset of business leaders themselves.
"Employers should consider treating their employees as important partners and collaborators, from a professional but especially from a human point of view. Respect them and have the conscience to respect the employment contract 100%. Build an internal climate that is as friendly as possible for the employee, as supportive as possible for him to grow and develop professionally, beyond work. Be more empathetic in sharing additional profits with employees."
Respecting the employment contract, building a friendly and supportive climate, as well as appreciating the contribution of employees beyond daily tasks, are elements that today make the difference between a growing business and a business that loses human resources.
"We are in a situation where we are not late, but we need to intervene now to treat employees not only with a Western and modern mindset, but also as a way, or the only way, to keep them engaged and productive within the company."
Employee engagement and fair sharing of additional profits are now a must. In an increasingly competitive market, investing in people remains the only way to build sustainable teams and successful businesses in 2026.
