How will the Shiroka-Shkodra road be transformed? - Details/ The 3.8 million euro project includes the “Buna 2” park
The second phase of the redevelopment of the tourist area of the Shiroka-Shkodra road will begin soon. The Public Procurement Agency has announced a tender with the contracting institution, the Albanian Development Fund, worth approximately 3.8 million euros for interested companies, which have a deadline to apply until August 27 at 11:00.
The design of the second "Buna" park is based on the concept of "weaving", which provides a global spatial, functional and technical solution that solves various types of problems related to the urban character of the area, access to Shiroka, and the connection of the river with the mountain.
These connections can be classified into four groups:
- Physical connection between existing and new infrastructures of different types and uses. This includes the existing road to Shiroka, which despite passing through residential areas, lacks sidewalks.
- Connecting existing and new cultural monuments by creating a rich network of new pedestrian and bicycle paths. Two monuments are planned to be built in the area that will give the area a distinct identity.
– The physical and visual connection between the city and nature by multiplying pedestrian and bicycle access to the Buna River waterfront, which is transformed into an attractive part of the city equipped with recreational and cultural activities.
- Conceptually connecting the past, present, and future of the area by building a pergola on the site of the old slaughterhouse.
The appearance of the Shirokë Shkodër entrance tourist area is the result of the combination of all these parks and various infrastructures, ensuring a structure of optimal spatial and functional connections. These connections require different technical solutions and solve the difference in levels with ramps, seating stairs, children's playgrounds with slide parks, sports areas and pedestrian bridges and walkways that allow visitors to walk over the lagoons.
