"Albanians are looking for well-paid jobs" - Bajraktari: Businesses are choosing to hire more and more foreigners
The labor market in Albania is changing at a very fast pace. Year after year, more and more foreigners are moving to our country to work.
But what do experts think about the reasons that push businesses to hire more foreign employees?
Elda Bajraktari states that in Albania there is a discrepancy between the working conditions offered by the employer and the demands of the employee, which has led businesses to turn to employees from abroad.
According to her, there are many people who come from the Philippines to work in Albania, but there is also no shortage of workers from Ukraine, Russia, or Georgia.
According to data from INSTAT, at the end of 2024, the employment rate for the population aged 15-64 was recorded at 68.3%, marking an annual increase of 1.6% and a quarterly decrease of 0.8%.
