Albania, production of military vehicles with Britain - Agreement signed for their joint sale
In cooperation with Great Britain, Albania will produce and sell military vehicles. A Joint Declaration on Advancing Bilateral Cooperation on Common Priorities was signed, as well as a Declaration of Intent regarding defense exports and industrial cooperation.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that our two countries will engage in the joint production of military vehicles.
"I can also speak about our joint declaration on cooperation in the defense sector. We will work together on the production and sale of military vehicles. Declaration of intent because we want to strengthen the national security, innovation and economic growth of our countries. This is a moment when European countries must stand together, to resist Russian aggression. I will visit Albanian and UK troops who are working together to protect our freedom and our citizens, what we are doing for Ukraine is clear evidence of what we are doing and working so efficiently. It is the defense of Ukraine that we will lead. I am very grateful to you and Albania for this partnership that you have shown in this battle of ours by showing leadership all over the world. Tomorrow you will welcome the summit, all the leaders who will come of course focusing on European security. At this critical moment, we convey a clear message that Europe is united, we are strong outside of us and safe inside our homes", he said . Starmer.
Regarding the signing of an agreement with Great Britain, like the one with Italy, for the construction of immigrant centers in Albania, Rama stated that this will not happen.
"This agreement was only with Italy, thanks to the geographical situation which is meaningful. Other countries have also asked us. In terms of cooperation in the field of defense, we have entered a new era, which is why the government is in a new phase of building the military industry and production. That phase that we are doing with an excellent ally, will begin with the production of vehicles that will serve our common goals."
Meanwhile, Rama and Starmer emphasized that they have had a very successful cooperation in the field of illegal immigration.
