79 million euros for energy - EU-Albania, grants for 8000 families. 130 charging stations for electric cars
The multi-annual operational program for energy under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III) will be 79 million euros. The draft law for the ratification of the financing agreement has arrived in the Parliament, according to which 50 million euros are the EU budget, while the remaining 29 million euros are co-financing by the Albanian government.

It will focus on the alignment of the acquis, investments, technical assistance, as well as feasibility studies. As regards investments, the operational programme will assist in the installation of 130 electric vehicle charging stations, power transformers (if necessary) and an improved technological system for the management of the charging station network.
Meanwhile, the third area of support is energy efficiency and environmental protection in the water sector. The investment component will focus on providing energy efficiency measures, as well as replacing pumping systems in the water supply infrastructure for seven water utilities. In addition, small stand-alone photovoltaic systems with a total combined capacity of up to 15 MW will be installed.
The execution period of the financial agreement will begin upon its entry into force and will end 12 years after this date.
