3.8 million euros in court decisions are settled - Businesses, over 4900 tax investigations during 2024
The state budget has paid nearly 3.8 million euros for court decisions throughout 2024. Referring to the Monitoring report for the Ministry of Finance, during the past year, it results that in the "Tax Revenue Management" program, there are 95 court decisions executed "with an actual cost of 370.4 million lek or 3.8 million euros, or 80% of those planned.
It mainly concerns lawsuits opened and won by businesses regarding various issues, as well as by employees who have lost their jobs, considered unfair.
Regarding this program, 132,105 taxpayers or 77.5% of the planned amount were assisted in 2024, at an actual cost of around 23 million euros, and 4,906 "Tax inspections, investigations" were carried out, at an actual cost of 1 million euros.
The objective of the “Tax Revenue Management” program is the organizational progress of the Tax Administration and the development of human capacities, the application of new methods and systems; modernization, the provision of quality services and the reduction of the administrative burden in the payment of tax obligations and social security contributions as a result of increasing public awareness by helping to develop a culture of higher voluntary compliance; Efficient implementation of tax and social security legislation; investigation of tax fraud cases; implementation of the risk management compliance strategy; further improvement of tax control and tracing of tax fraud; efficient and effective debt collection.
For 2024, the realization was worth 27 million euros, or 91% of the revised plan and 90% of the initial plan.
