"Albania, closer to the EU" - Security Dialogue, Hasani: Reflects the country's progress
The first session of the Security and Defence Dialogue in Albania was held. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, who described this dialogue as a positive step in Albania's journey towards the European Union.
Sinkron – Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy:
“Albania is increasingly undertaking reforms that help it become part of the European Union. The EU has offered 13 million euros to Albania to improve the capacities of the Armed Forces, strengthening cooperation between us,” said Ms. Kallas.
On the other hand, Minister Hasani described this meeting as a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and to highlight the successful and efficient cooperation between the EU and Albania in the field of foreign policy, security and defense.
Sinkron – Igli Hasani, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs:
"Today we are moving from vision to concrete actions. For a country like Albania, which is fully aligned and loyal to the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy, this document is an expression of our joint commitment to work even more closely in facing the complex challenges of the time. It also clearly reflects Albania's progress on the path of EU integration and the increasingly important role we are taking on in the collective security architecture in Europe," said Minister Hasani.
The Security and Defense Dialogue is the first in a series of sessions that will determine how Albania and the EU will work together to address the challenges of our time – challenges that transcend national borders and require collective solutions.
