How much do you prefer internet, phone and TV packages? - AKEP: Families paying for integrated services are increasing
More Albanians are choosing to pay for an integrated package with internet, telephone and television. According to the latest data from the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP), during the last quarter of 2024 there was an increase in the number of households paying a fixed fee for a package that includes 2 or 3 services.
AKEP figures show that the number of individuals with broadband internet access from fixed networks reached around 687 thousand in the fourth quarter of the year, which represents an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of around 8.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
Broadband access from fixed networks includes internet access with DSL, cable modem, fiber to the home/building, and others, but does not include broadband access with a mobile network.
Fixed network users who have access to integrated services such as telephone, internet and television reached around 300 thousand, an increase of 1.6% estimated for the period October-December 2023.
The number of subscribers with triple packages (Telephone, Internet and TV) constitutes 23.2% of the total number of subscribers with integrated packages, while 29.9% are with "Internet and Telephone" packages and 46.9% with "Internet and TV" packages.
On the other hand, about 165 thousand subscribers used the fixed telephone line in the last quarter of 2024. Referring to data from the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority, the number of people using a fixed telephone at home or in their business has decreased by 1.1% compared to the third quarter of 2024 and by 4.5% compared to the last quarter of the previous year.
In fact, landline telephone lines are expected to have fewer and fewer users in the future, as it is known that young people prefer to use smartphones or other internet-enabled devices to communicate.
