Taxes collect 123 million euros more - January-March 2024, revenues increase by

The tax administration has significantly increased the revenues collected in the state budget. According to data from the General Directorate of Taxes, total revenues for the first quarter of 2025 reached 116 billion lek, or 0.9 billion lek more than planned.

Compared to the first quarter of 2024, revenues have exceeded 12.3 billion lek or about 123 million euros. Expressed in percentage, the exceedance compared to the previous year is recorded at 11.9%.

Tax revenues include revenues from net VAT in the country, profit tax, personal income tax, national taxes, which have started the year with positive performance.

The main weight in the increase has been held by the revenues generated by the Value Added Tax, which also indicates the increasing consumption among the population, followed by the personal income tax, which reflects the increased salaries of the administration and the private sector, as well as the positive effects that the anti-informality reform has had in this regard.  

Likewise, the declaration and payment of DIVA obligations by employees in the country has made an important contribution.

Also, another item that is experiencing progressive growth is related to revenues from special funds, social and health insurance, collected by the Tax Administration, which also reflect the reform of wage increases and the one against their under-declaration.
Profit Tax and National Taxes have also started the year with positive performance in terms of contribution to the state budget.
